Rules & Regulations

Clause 1 – Name and Office

  • The name of the Association shall be “Abacus Association.”
  • The registered office of the Association shall be situated in the State of Maharashtra.
  • Clause 2 – Membership

  • Any individual, irrespective of caste, religion, or gender, who is interested in the objectives of the Association, may apply for membership.
  • The authority to grant membership shall rest with the Managing Committee.
  • Applicants must submit the prescribed application form along with necessary documents and membership fees. (1000/- Annually)
  • Membership may be terminated if a member violates the rules and regulations of the Association.
  • Clause 3 – Rights and Duties of Members

  • Every member shall have the right to attend, participate in discussions, and vote in the General Body meetings.
  • It shall be the duty of every member to work towards achieving the objectives of the Association, follow the rules, and pay membership fees on time.
  • Participation in national and international level competitions organized by the Association shall be mandatory for all members.
  • Clause 4 – Types of Membership

  • Founder Members – Members who were involved at the time of establishment of the Association.
  • Ordinary Members – Members who join after the formation of the Association.
  • Honorary Members – Individuals granted honorary membership by the Association for their special contributions.
  • Clause 5 – General Body

  • The General Body meeting shall be held at least once every year.
  • The annual report, financial statements, elections, and important resolutions shall be presented in this meeting.
  • The General Body shall have the authority to approve or reject the decisions of the Managing Committee.
  • Clause 6 – Managing Committee

  • The Committee shall consist of a President, Vice-President, Secretary, Joint Secretary, Treasurer, and 3 to 7 elected members.
  • The Committee shall manage the day-to-day affairs of the Association.
  • The Committee shall be elected every 5 years through voting.
  • The Committee shall have authority over financial transactions, program organization, staff appointments, and other administrative matters.
  • Any member desirous of becoming a part of the Managing Committee must have completed a minimum of three (3) years of continuous membership in the Association.
  • Clause 7 – Financial Matters

  • The funds of the Association shall be used solely for educational, social, and objective-related activities.
  • The Treasurer shall maintain proper accounts and present audited financial statements annually.
  • All expenses shall be made only with the joint signatures of the President/Secretary and the Treasurer.
  • Clause 8 – Meetings and Quorum

  • At least one-third (1/3) of the total members shall constitute the quorum for a General Body meeting.
  • At least 50% of the Managing Committee members shall constitute the quorum for Committee meetings.
  • Resolutions shall be passed by majority vote.
  • Clause 9 – Amendment

  • The General Body shall have the authority to amend or modify the Rules and Regulations.
  • Any amendment must be approved by a two-thirds (2/3) majority.
  • Clause 10 – Dissolution

  • In the event of dissolution of the Association, the remaining assets shall not be distributed among the members.
  • Such assets shall be transferred to another registered educational or social institution.
